ABOUT ME

As a younger lad I was an avid cyclist frequently putting many miles under my belt as often as I could. Life has since got in the way and family commitments meant time in the saddle was none existent. As time flew by and I hit my late forties and having a less physical career, I realised the weight was starting to pile on. It wasn't long before I was tipping the scales at a tad over eighteen stones. 


Being Asthmatic and overweight was a bad combination when we first found out about Covid 19. Like many others I bought a bike and an indoor trainer setup and got my act together to shed some much needed weight and improve my chances should I contract Covid.


With all this new energy obtained and my love for cycling returning I felt it was time to catalogue what I have done and plan to do. With a  passion for new technology I have reviewed some of the products available to us cyclists and what I really think about it, all the items I mention in the blog have actually been purchased out of my own pocket. Some products are new but most older technology and if they are still worth buying. 



MISSION

Armed with the bike & trainer and Zwift I set myself a target of losing four stones over the first lockdown. A total diet change with careful calorie counting using the Nutracheck app along side some impeccable advice from a personal trainer I know has been the key to my success.


At just under 14 stone I now feel fitter, healthier and much less lethargic. I have also seen massive improvements in my respiratory behaviour.

VISION

Having met a couple of really nice lads through cycling I am now planning some epic rides and finally being able to compete in my first sportive for over 35 years. All my information is catalogued in my blog and i hope it goes some way towards helping others either lose weight or just get out in the fresh air and stay active.
